Buddha Bar La Barra is one of the most surprising things to hit the jet set in years. This beach fish shack—opened by the owners of the original Paris Buddha Bar—now tops the list of Punta del Este’s notorious nightlife spots. A covered outdoor patio, pitched right in the sand, invites lethargic beachgoers to come over for a refreshing afternoon cocktail when the sun gets too hot. Buddha is a cut above your average fish shack: think fine sushi, not fish and chips. International DJs spin for late night beach parties, where the young and the beautiful party together—both Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bündchen have been spotted here. Within walking distance from the main drag in La Barra.
