Getting Around

Most places of interest in and around town can be visited on foot. However, the most scenic sights lie a lot further beyond the town’s center. There is no public transportation, so the best way to get to the beaches that are a bit further north is on bicycle or scooter. However, there aren’t currently any car or bike rentals operating out of Nueva Palmira. If you’re coming from Carmelo, your safest bet is to rent a car there and drive into town. There is no taxi stand, but Edi Banchero (099939026), a local taxi driver, will gladly take you where you need to go; she makes trips to Punta Gorda for $6 round trip.
