Tourism

The Tourist Information Office is located across from the boat and yacht dock (Dr. Cuneo and Torres Leiva). It’s open daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Money

Two important banks are located on Avenida Artigas. You’ll find a BBVA Banco Francés at Avenida Artigas 920 and the Banco República at the corner of Avenida Artigas and Eguren. Bank hours are typically 1-6 p.m. Both have 24-hour ATMs and change money, but you may also do that at Cambio Nelson (Av. Artigas 953), open Monday-Saturday 8 a.m.-8 pm. Keep in mind that some shops and restaurants may not accept foreign currency.

Keeping in Touch

ANTEL has a phone center at Jacinto Laguna 1039, which is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Medical

Nueva Palmira’s public hospital is located on Jose Pedro Varela between Ituzaingó and Ibicuy. There are two pharmacies on Avenida Artigas, Farmacia Arrieta at number 928 and Farmacia Palmirense at number 970.

Some hotels offer laundry service. There are no laundromats in town.
