I am a 21 year-old, soon-to-be college graduate with a major in Creative Writing and a minor degree in Photojournalism. I have a passion for photography and for all kinds of writing disciplines. I am a very extroverted person who loves to meet other people, especially those whose lifestyles are very different from my own. I enjoy helping others and food is one of the great loves of my life.

When you are traveling, take practical adventures that will lead you off the beaten trail.

  • Craziest place

The craziest place I've visited is probably Bali, since I spent enough time there and met enough people to understand how vast the cultural differences are between there's and mine. The treatment of women and extreme daily devotion to religion provided me with a big culture shock.

During the photography workshop I took in Bali, a man I had merely met a few days earlier showed me the tattoo of my name on his hand as he introduced me to the elders in his family compound, assuming that since we had spent some time together that we were obviously in a serious relationship.

  • Advice

Don't limit your travel experience to just big tourist traps and absolutely try the local cuisine.

  • Dream destination

I would love to travel anywhere in China. I know people that explored the majority of Shanghai on their bicycle.

  • Traveled before

Aside from road tripping all over the United States, I have traveled to Bermuda, Mexico, Canada, Indonesia, and Singapore.

  • Going next

I am hopefully traveling to China later in the summer if I am accepted into a month long program where I'd be teaching English to K-12 students.
