I am a freelance writer, editor and photographer currently based in Buenos Aires. I've traveled to more than 40 countries and have lived and worked in Guam, Tokyo and New York.

  • Hometown

    New York, NY, USA

  • Location now

    Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • Work published

Time Out New York, The Japan Times, The Jerusalem Post, Asahi Weekly, American Chamber of Commerce in Japan Journal, Metropolis Magazine (Japan's largest English-language magazine), J Select (Japan), Japanzine, Tokyo Notice Board, The Dartmouth.

  • Travel philosophy

Travel. Observe. Listen. Photograph. Write. Repeat.

  • Craziest place

It depends on the definition of "crazy." In one sense of the word, spring break in Cancun would top my list.

  • Bizarre experience

Getting groped by a Japanese business man on the Tokyo Metro.

  • Advice

In terms of cultural experiences, do not be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone.

  • Dream destination

To return to Myanmar for a third time, not as a tourist, but to volunteer to teach English in a monastery.

  • Traveled before

40+ countries of which among the lesser visited include Myanmar, Morocco, Peru, Iceland, Slovenia, Indonesia, Oman and the Isle of Man (can I count that as a country?).

  • Going next

    Argentina.

Actually, I'm already here, but it's a huge country and I need to explore beyond the capital.
