  • Travel philosophy

The journey is greater than the destination.

  • Craziest place

Agra, India. On a narrow bridge so rickety I could see the river through the broken floor boards, vehicles of all shapes and sizes battled for passage, including camels and elephants! Wild monkeys leaped from vehicle to vehicle, cyclists hollered "Whoooo!" in the absence of a bell, and train roared overhead on the top deck sending clouds of dust and pieces of the bridge down on me. The "road" to Pnom Phen (Cambodia) was pretty crazy too.

  • Bizarre experience

staying in a tribal village hut only accessible by elephant in the north Thai jungle mountains. Or, the traditional marriage proposal ceremony in Japan when I had to ask my wife's family to allow us to marry.
