I was born in Essex and lived there untill I was 18 when I moved to Cardiff, to study philosophy. For my final year of study I was offered a place at UCLA. I moved over to Los Angeles and there completed my third year. After graduating I took up a job working in Egypt as a tour leader / holiday representative. I spent three interesting months in Luxor and three even more interesting months in Sharm El Sheikh (on the Red Sea). After Egypt I applied for a working holiday visa for New Zealand. I have now been living in Auckland for 10 months. It's great to be living back in the city - well, kind of!

Travel philosophy
Rather than backpacking I prefer to spend 6/9 months in one area to really get to know the place, people and the culture.
Bizarre experience
Whilst living in Luxor I made friends with the Egyptian market sellers that were located outside the hotel I was staying. During Ramadam Muslims are forbidden to eat and drink (among other things) untill the sun has set, usually around 6pm. One Sunday they invited me to have breakfast with them. I was very privilaged to feast with them at this special time of the year.
Dream destination
At the moment my dream destination would be a cruise around Fiji and the surrounding islands.
Traveled before
Having lived in Egypt, UK, Los Angeles and New Zealand I have spent a fair bit of time travelling around these areas. In Europe I have visited Fance, Spain, Portugal, Greece on various occasion. Other destinations in America include Akansas, Las Vegas, New York, Rhode Island, Boston, Connecticut. Whilst in the Middle East I was lucky enough to visit Petra, Jordan.
Going next
I will be in New Zealand untill March 08. During this time I am looking forward to traveling around the South Island. After New Zealand I hope to go on to Australia. I haven't been since I was two years old!
