Travel philosophy
Traveling allows your appreciate how long a day can be in a good way and how much you can really see and experience without feeling rushed.
Craziest place
Bourbon Street in New Orleans and a corporate strip club in Reykjavik
Bizarre experience
Spending a few hours in a public hospital in Costa Rica when I had food poisoning. I was put in a room with a man with a deep machete wound to the stomach and he was never given any pain killers.
Advice
Don't sleep in, hang out in cafes, bars, parks and restaurants and talk to locals and be flexible for an unexpected adventure. Don't sign up for tours unless its a local one day jaunt. Experience local transportation. Read your guide book before AND throughout your trip!
