Due to hit the book stores in April 2007, V!VA List, Latin America is the first-ever armchair travel book created by an online community of travelers, writers and photographers. Packed with colorful essays and striking photographs, the 350-page book is designed to inspire readers to journey south (or north, east, or west!) and experience exotic Latin American culture and its extraordinary places.

A New Spin on an Old Tradition

Organized into small, motivating excerpts, V!VA List is a fresh, innovative take on travel writing. Simply put, the community of writers and photographers are Latin American lovers. It was the fond memories, love for the people, places and the color of Latin America that breathed life into the pages of this book. While some contributors wrote about major attractions such as the Galápagos Islands and Machu Picchu, many wrote about unique experiences such as stumbling upon a lavender farm in the mountains of Argentina or eating lemon ants in the Ecuadorian Amazon. This project provided opportunities not just to established writers and photographers, but also to those who have always wanted to write, and have yet to be published.

Is it V!VA List worthy?

A rough guideline for a submission is: Would someone conceivably plan a trip half way around the world to experience this place and design their vacation around it? If so, the place is surely V!VA List worthy. Many of the places nominated will be major attractions such as: the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower and the Great Wall of China. But, we’re also looking for those places that are a bit more off the beaten trail -- places that provide truly unique, can’t miss experiences for certain niches of travelers, like birdwatchers, or mountaineers, for example.
