Viva List Promotion

The time has come for the final pre-release push of V!VA List Latin America and everyone's help is needed in the last big marketing campaign before the April, 2007 release.

There are three principle methods to get V!VA List Latin America on (and off!) the shelves of books stores: in-store book signings, pre-release book reviews and promoting the book on the web.

Book Signings

The first method, the in-store book signings, is a chance to get out from behind a computer and talk about your adventures. This is a great opportunity to promote both your career and the book, using our book signing guidelines.

Be sure to contact the stores well in advance, as their available timeslots fill up several weeks in advance. Remember, the people attending book signings may be some of the most interested potential buyers so be sure the bookstore has copies on hand. If you aren't able to do a book signing, at least let your local bookstores know that V!VA List is written by a local author and ask them to stock it.

VIVA List is all about real people going on real adventures and falling in love with the places and people they meet on their journey. We've found that book signings held by living, breathing local authors gets people excited about traveling, and even writing about their travels.

Book Reviews

Reviews of VIVA List Latin America will get the book media coverage and equate into more sales of your book and exposure for you as a writer or photographer. Please see our book review guideliness with some how-to information on contacting writers and journalists who may be interested in reviewing the book.

Reviews given in travel magazines, local newspapers or other travel publications will give the book exposure to people interested in travel. Naturally, these people are the target market. Also, there are a lot of travel websites out there who may be interested in reviewing the book. Firing off emails to them might generate some valuable internet publicity that can be accessed by people living anywhere.

Media coverage

We encourage writers to reprint (and resell!) their works to newspaper travel sections and magazines. We only ask that www.vivatravelguides.com and the author of the work get credited in the article.

Online Promotion

Do you have a blog, or a website? Let the world know that you'll be published and soon available in bookstores. Link to the VIVA List website www.vivatravelguides.com/viva-list/.  Most importantly, don't be shy. People need to know about your book in order to buy it. So get out there, talk to people, and help make your book a success.

Other easy ways you can do to help promote the book include:

Sending an email about the book to your friends and family.

Giving a poster to your local library, bookstore, travel agency or anyplace else that might be interested.

Download the V!VA List Cover pdf and put it on your website or blog

Adding information about the book to your email signature.

Contacting clubs and alumni associations to let them know of your achievement.
